7 Powerful Ways to Get your Sales Team Re-Energized and Re-Focused during COVID -19

Covid-19 is having a significant impact on people and economies worldwide. Companies have to struggle a lot to motivate their different stakeholders and maintain their regular operations. So, the sales managers must go through every extreme to keep their sales teams motivated and energized. In the situation of the epidemic, the external conditions may affect their performance and motivation. You must know that salespeople should always be hyped up motivated. The motive of your salespeople will affect your productivity, sales, culture, and bottom line.

If you want to increase the motivation of your salespeople, then you must understand that as a leader, there isn’t a single recipe that you can use to maximize the productivity of your sales team. You have to use multiple recipes and methods for this purpose.

Here are some powerful techniques that I use when I talk to salespeople during my coaching program and my motivational speeches.

  1. Make sure you communicate

You must ensure proper communication with your sales staff. As a leader, you should communicate with them regularly and update them about what’s going on in the company and how it is performing. As we know, due to COVID-19, most of the companies are now working in a virtual environment. You can set up virtual meetings with them and discuss with them. Give them time so that they can ask questions from you and do a regular follow up with them about their performance. In this way, you will also be able to keep a check on your sales team and can know how they are performing.

  1. Share your vision

2020 started with a great boom. Everyone expected to do something great this year. Companies also made their goals for this year. But with the arise of COVID-19, everything went out of the window, and everything started to fall apart. In this kind of situation, likely, the morale of your staff will also be down. You should let them know about your vision, what you think about the future and how you are going to proceed with your company in the future as it is still uncertain that what’s going to happen in the future. So prepare them for any challenge that they could face.

  1. Show that you care

As most of your salespersons are working from home these days. It’s your responsibility to

Understand them and empathize with them. Your tone should be lenient and polite to them. Keep asking them about their health and well being regularly and show them that they are valuable to you and you care for them. In this way, they will not only stay loyal to your company, but also they will work even harder and with more passion.

  1. Give out new goals

You must re-consider your goals of this year and re-write them according to the current situation of the world. You may have planned bigger things before, but now you ll have to act according to the circumstances. So, it is very to make a new list of goals and make sure that you convey your new goals to all of your salespersons because they are the ones who will be standing with you in the thick and thin so they must be aware of your new plans and goals.

  1. Have a one-on-one with each salesperson

Try to set up one-on-one meetings with your salespersons. Try to spare some time to talk to each one of them separately and listen to their problems. This because maybe they feel shy during the conference call to reveal their issues in front of everyone. So, you will be able to monitor their performance efficiently and can pay individual attention to them also. This will not only increase their productivity but will also keep them motivated and energized.

  1. Offer training and coaching

In your free time, you can organize some free training sessions for your sales team. This will help them in their personal development and will improve their selling skills also. You can hire a coach for this purpose, or you can also conduct the training by yourself with your expertise. In this way, instead of wasting their free time, they will be able to do something productive. Ultimately it is going to help you and your company.

  1. Share your positive attitude

Positivity is the key to success. A positive mind can achieve whatever he desires. So it is essential to keep the thinking of your sales staff positive towards their work. You can do this by showing them a positive attitude when you talk to them. Always try to drive them towards positivity and share your positive experiences with them. It will not only motivate them to work hard but will also keep them healthy and immune to any negative behavior and negative thoughts. Staying positive during COVID-19 could be lifesaving for them.

So, there were some tips and methods that you can adopt to keep your sales team motivated and energized during the coronavirus epidemic. I shared my personal experience with you that I gained through my tenure of training and coaching and working with the salespeople. They will be beneficial for you also.
